Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's chief executive, announced on Wednesday that he would launch an independent VR headset, Oculus Go, for $199 early next year.
Zuckerberg is not just the product a lot, but he points out that Oculus Go will fill mobile VR headsets (advanced features but price populist) are provided and the Oculus Rift between advanced VR products such as blank.
Hugo Barra, head of VR at Facebook, said the helmet was made using a new generation lens from the Oculus Rift. It has a special built-in display with a wide view and a clear image. The device will be sold with speakers - which means that if you will not need headphones to use Oculus Go. The device supports the application of the Gear VR library and has a separate controller.
"It's the easiest way to get people into VR," says Barra. We think that when we have independent devices, they spend more time in virtual reality."
Barra also announced a new Oculus for Business plan. The plan would allow the company to buy a lot of Oculus Rift.
"Oculus for Business is for companies that want to explore VR and create new work processes," Barra explains.
He points out that audi is using the Oculus Rift products in dealerships to cater to customers. Oculus will also sell a virtual reality that includes the Rift, controller and additional sensors to provide the entire room. The company will also receive VR commercial licenses, warranties and special customer support.
Zuckerberg and Barra also spoke briefly about Oculus Santa Cruz. The device is currently just a sample that Facebook is developing.
The Santa Cruz helmet is also an independent device that does not need to be connected to a personal computer and is due to be launched next year. The headset will support Oculus's "inside and outside tracking" feature. This means that users do not need to install special sensors in the room. The helmet's built-in sensor can determine the location of the user.
